FAIRPORT, N.Y. - Bosch Security Systems, Inc., a full-line manufacturer of high-quality security solutions, announced today the expansion of its award-winning FlexiDome camera series with the introduction of a 9-22 mm varifocal lens that adds 20 new models to the line. The new models will help Bosch customers solve a wider range of surveillance challenges using these top-selling cameras.
The 9-22 mm varifocal lens is ideal for recognizing objects up close, such as a person walking through a doorway, and for surveillance of long indoor corridors or sidewalks alongside the exterior of a building. It provides wide area coverage up to 31.2 degrees horizontal and 22.8 degrees vertical and telephoto coverage of up to 12.8 degrees horizontal and 9.6 degrees vertical, enabling surveillance system operators to identify a person positioned up to 130 feet away from the camera. The lens is IR-corrected to keep FlexiDome Day/Night cameras in focus at all times and has an F/1.4 (f-stop) to allow a greater amount of light to pass through the lens to the image sensor - resulting in enhanced sensitivity and faster reaction to light changes.
The new lens is available for both analog and FlexiDome IP cameras, which offer superior digital image quality with the protection of a vandal-resistant dome enclosure. FlexiDome cameras are built to deliver years of reliable operation and incorporate a full set of intelligent features designed by Bosch to enable users to capture crisp, detailed images in almost any lighting condition - indoors and out. Auto Black reduces the effects of fog and glare, NightSense automatically switches the camera to monochrome for increased sensitivity in fading light, and backlight compensation allows for clear viewing of entrances and exits. Day/Night cameras also include an IR filter with extended dynamic image to allow every detail to show up in highlight and lowlight areas of a scene.
Recognizing the cameras' advanced technology, the FlexiDome series has earned three awards from industry organizations, including a New Product Showcase award from CANASA, the Canadian Security Association.
